The East Gulf Coastal Plain is one of the major landscape feature of Alabama. Though the East Gulf Coastal Plain is spread mostly over Alabama, it also extends to Florida Parishes, Mississippi, Tennessee as well as Kentucky. On the southern part it extends up to the Gulf of Mexico and on the western side it extends up to the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. On the northern part the East Gulf Coastal Plain extends up to the Southern Appalachians and the interior low plateaus.

East Gulf Coastal Plain boasts of a large number of rivers as well as streams. One of the important river flowing through the region is the Apalachicola river. The uplands of the East Gulf Coastal Plain
is mostly known for various kinds of pine vegetation. The original pine trees with long leaf are found in the southern part whereas the short leaf trees and hardwoods are available in the northern part.
The East Gulf Coastal Plain is famous for its flora and fauna. You can find a huge wild life in the region where you will find a lot of endangered species.
