The Cheaha Mountain is an important mountain in Alabama. This mountain is also popularly known as the Mount Cheaha. The Cheaha Mountain is also a popular tourist spot as well. The Cheaha Mountain is actually a major part of the Talladega Mountain Range. This mountain range is again a part of the Blue Ridge. As this is highest point of Alabama, it is marked by a USGS marker as well. Other than this marker there is also a Bunker Tower here. This is not only a tower but it is also an observatory as well. Another attraction of the Cheaha Mountain is the Bald Rock. This has turned out to be a major tourist attraction. This rock has been also made wheelchair accessible so that more people can access it. There is a wooden walkaway here and you can have a look at the entire surrounding.
The Cheaha Mountain has a large number of public as well as commercial transmitters. These transmitters help in transmitting various signals. Other than this, there are various structures which dates back to the earlier period. All this commercial features have a great impact on the natural environment of State of Alabama.
One of the important radio association known as the Calhoun County Amateur Radio Association has a repeater near the mountain peak. Other than this, the Alabama Public Television has also installed one of its transmitters here. It is specially for the WCIQ TV. This transmitter is situated at the top of Cheaha mountain. Other than this the mountain also has a park which is known as the Cheaha State Park which also has a restaurant as well as a lodge.
