US Space and Rocket Center at Huntsville

The US Space and Rocket Center at Huntsville is essentially a museum constructed to display an array of hardware belonging to the U.S. space program. This museum or Rocket Center was inaugurated in 1970 and at present, it houses an impressive range of over 1,500 rockets and space hardwares. This US Space and Rocket Center at Huntsville is specifically located in the western part of the city and serves as an important tourist attraction of Alabama.

Huntsville's Space and Rocket Center exhibits such spectacular space astronautical items like-:
- Saturn V rocket
- Skylab simulator
- A-12 Oxcart
- Pathfinder orbiter
- Centaur G-Prime upper stage
- Apollo 16 command module
The Space and Rocket Museum at Huntsville also boasts temporary rocketry and space related exhibitions, interactive science seminars, space themed rides and one very authentic IMAX theater called the Spacedome. Besides, the space camp of United States is also located on the premises of the Space and Rocket Center of Huntsville and the Aviation Challenge is also situated close by. The museum also showcases Saturn V that comprises various Apollo program tests. This aircraft is currently, undergoing a repair and will be put on display soon.
US Space and Rocket Center at Huntsville is also the resting place of Miss Baker who was a squirrel monkey that flew on a test flight of Jupiter on May 28, 1959. Recently, the Huntsville Museum of Space and Rocket is constructing a new facility for housing the Saturn V rocket and also for opening a visitor's center.
