The state of Alabama is located in the southern region of the United States of America. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north and Georgia in the east. Florida and the Gulf of Mexico lies in the south and Mississippi to the west. The rail travel in Alabama and Florida is one of the several shortlin railroad that companies owned by the Pioneer Railcorp. On Novenber 23, 1992 the Alabama and Florida Railway Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pioneer Rail corporation, purchased the tangible assets of the Alabama and Florida rail corporation.

The rail line run from Georgia to Geneva, Alabama for a distance of 76 miles and interchanged with CSX at Georgiana. On June 11, 2001, the company's Alabama and Florida Railway Corporation subsidiary sold a 33 mile segment of its track from Georgiana to Andalusia to the Three Notch Railroad Corporation. This is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gulf and Ohio Railways. The Alabama and Florida Corporation operates the remaining 43 miles of trackage. The Alabama and Florida Corporation's principal commodities are fertilizer and railcer storage. The rail travel in Alabama is the shortest line and was build in 1901. The rail road has been built by Alabama and Florida Railroad and it ran from a connection with the Louisville and Nashville at Georgiana, Alabama and is terminated at Graceville, Florida. The rail travel in Alabama has a connection to the Atlanta and St Andrews Bay Railroad. The Louisville and Nashville operated the line from 1901. The Louisville and Nashville acquired it from Mobile and Ohio railways and renamed its original name, the Alabama and Florida Railroad.
The Alabama and Florida railroad was purchased by Pioneer Rail Corporation on November 23, 1992 and renamed it as the Alabama and Florida Railway.
